Chris is passionate about forest ecosystems and sustainably manages his own forest with a registered written management plan. Through this plan he has undertaken improvement cutting activities, which have resulted in firewood and some usable lumber removal which Chris has milled into boards on his portable sawmill. The wood is air dried on site and then finish dried at a local kiln. The main species of wood are maple and Cherry with the occasional removal of white elm that has been infected with Dutch elm disease.
