Elegant Charred Log

Iron wood log created from dead ironwood trunk to become the greeting element at Nota Bene Restaurant in Toronto. Charring was done using the Japanese technique called Sho Sugi Ban. With a clear flat varnish finish, the eyes are drawn to the texture and contours of the log.
